Ministry: Russia threshes 49 mln tns of grain as of Friday

MOSCOW, Aug 3 (PRIME) -- Russian farmers threshed 49.255 million tonnes of grain in bunker weight from 14.235 million hectares as of Friday compared with 44.885 million tonnes from 10.656 million hectares as of the same date last year, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement.

The crop yield fell 17.8% on the year to 34.6 metric centners per hectare.

The Agriculture Ministry expects the Russian grain harvest to amount to about 100 million tonnes in 2018.
